Spain’s Prime Minister doesn’t want Neymar at Real Madrid

The prospect of Neymar making another giant move to Real Madrid may have most of the club’s fans excited, but one very prominent supporter is hoping it doesn’t happen.

Reports of the Brazilian swapping the French capital for Spain’s have emerged once again less than a year into his first season with Paris Saint-Germain following a record €222 million move to the Ligue 1 giants.

However, the prime minister of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, would not welcome the 25-year-old at his favourite team, but is looking forward to seeing Zinedine Zidane’s side face the attacker in their Champions League last-16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

“No I wouldn’t like to see Neymar in the white shirt of Madrid”, he told AS.

“People will focus on the three players they have up front, who are great players, but they have a brilliant squad with players like Angel Di María, Marco Verratti, Adrien Rabiot, and the Argentine lad – Giovani Lo Celso.”

“We’ll be in for two very keenly-fought games between two clubs with the best squads in the world.”
