Kane awarded goal against Stoke after appeal

Harry Kane has been awarded Tottenham’s second goal in their 2-1 win over Stoke after appealing to the goal accreditation appeals panel.

It was reported earlier this week that Tottenham would lodge an appeal to get the goal credited to Kane, after the England striker was adamant he should have been awarded the winner.

Christian Eriksen – who swung in the free-kick which resulted in the goal – had originally been noted down as the scorer, but Kane’s claims that the ball brushed his shoulder have led to him being given the plaudits.

Following that decision, Kane has scored 25 goals in the league this season, four behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah – the division’s top scorer.
