Nigeria international striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that he is capable of scoring against Manchester United just as he did during the 2016-2017 season in Man City’s 2-1 win against their city rivals.
Manchester United host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Friday evening in Premier League opener.
”I think everyone is looking forward to that game. Coming from Man City to Leicester and playing against Man United I think the City fans are going to support us in that game,” Iheanacho was quoted as saying by Mirror UK.
”I scored against United in the derby so it was a good experience and I am looking forward to hopefully doing it again.”
With Jamie Vardy missing most part of the pre-season preparations, Iheanacho looks set to be named in the starting line-up, after his pre-season form that saw him score four times in three games.
”If I am chosen for the game against United I have to keep my goal-scoring record and work hard for the team.
”I would like to be part of it and am looking forward to it. I think it is going to be a big season for the whole team and we are in good shape now,” He added.
Iheanacho has been directly involved in 41 goals (29 goals, 12 assists) in 92 matches since moving to England in 2015.
