The Croatian Football Federation have confirmed an international friendly game against Brazil ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup to be held at Russia.
Croatia, who are in the same Group D as the Super Eagles of Nigeria alongside Argentina and Iceland, have also confirmed that the friendly will take place at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium at Merseyside in England, according to reports on Jutarnji.hr.
The game is slated for June 3, which is 11 days to the start of the mundial in Russia.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has also made sure the Super Eagles, who qualified for the World Cup unbeaten, get tough opponents to play against ahead of the tournament in Russia. Five games have been arranged.
Gernot Rohr’s men will play Poland and Serbia on March 23 and March 27 respectively before a farewell game against Congo at the Abuja National Stadium on May 28.
Nigeria will later face the Three Lions of England on June 2 at Wembley, before they round off their friendlies with a clash against Czech Republic on June 6.
The Super Eagles will play their opening fixture of the World Cup against Croatia on June 16.
