Jayden Adetiba has expressed excitement after putting pen to paper on a contract with Premier League side Arsenal.
The 9-year-old, who was formerly on the books of South Africa side SuperSport United, was snapped up by the Gunners after impressing the coaches during a five-week trial at Hale End.
“I thank God and my parents for this. I am very happy. The amazing thing is, I have always been an Arsenal fan and I will work hard every day to make the first team,” Adetiba enthused.
The youngster adores Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and has a mentor in Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi, stating the 23-year-old’s progress through the ranks at the North London side motivates him.
“I train three times a week at the academy and we have a match at the weekend. I want to be like Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Iwobi.
“Ronaldo because of his hard work, and Iwobi because he was at the Arsenal academy at the age of seven and now plays for the first team.”
