Europe’s football governing body UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic following the pitch invasion by a fan during the Champions League tie against PSG.

The supporter raced onto the Parkhead pitch late in the first half of Celtic’s 5-0 defeat and darted towards PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.

He tried kicking Mbappe but missed before been whisked away by security.

Celtic have faced UEFA’s hammer 11 times in six seasons relating to supporter misconduct during European ties, with over £160,000 in fines incurred over the same period.
