La Liga champions Real Madrid have rejected a £52.4 million (€60m) bid from Manchester United for striker Alvaro Morata, according to Sky Sports.
Real Madrid are reportedly asking for £78 million for the Spain international; and it was understood that United goalkeeper David de Gea was not included in the offer.
Morata, who scored 20 goals in all competitions for Real last season as they claimed a double of the league and UEFA Champions League titles, has been playing second fiddle to Karim Benzema since returning from Juventus last summer and has been subject to transfer
speculations linking him with a move away from the capital city.
It is also understood that the Red Devils will try to sign Andrea Belotti with a release clause of €100m (£87.3m) from Torino if they fail to get Morata this summer.
