Premier League side Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita but he won’t be making the move until next summer.
The Reds have been chasing the Guinea international all summer, but Leipzig were reluctant to lose the player for the 2016/17 season as they make their first foray into the Champions League.
But Liverpool have now secured his services for the 2018/19 campaign onwards. He will become the most expensive African footballer of all time, when he completes the move for £55m.
Liverpool paid a premium of £7m on top of his £48m release clause, according to Dailymail.
RB Leipzig have given Naby Keita permission to have a medical at Liverpool and agree a transfer for next summer with the Reds paying a premium over his release clause of £48m to tie up a deal in advance.
