Kylian Mbappe has been suspended for two games by the French League Disciplinary Committee, after the PSG striker was sent off against Rennes in the Coupe de la Ligue.

The PSG forward has already served one game of his ban, and thus will only miss the encounter with Strasbourg on February 17.

Mbappe was sent off after a late tackle on Rennes’ Ismaila Sarr, in his side’s 3-2 victory, and the 19-year-old accepted the decision of the referee after the game.

“Yes, I agree with the referee’s decision,” said Mbappe in the mixed zone.”

“Of course, it is a red card.”

“What I did not agree with was what had gone on before but it is not a serious issue, this is all part of football.”
