Serie A side Inter Milan have requested Anthony Martial on loan as part of the agreement that will see Ivan Perisic leave for Manchester United.
Perisic is keen on joining Jose Mourinho’s side but United have been unwilling to match the £45m valuation.
Talks have stalled but the deal is not yet dead and, in an attempt to find a solution, Inter have asked to take Martial on loan for a year to offset part of the difference.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti said of United’s move for his player: “There is no fixed date to when he will stay or go but we all know what happened. There were conversations we had. Nothing happened since then.
“My intention is for Perisic to stay at the club and I will try in every possible way for him to stay and be part of the team.”
