Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has been impressed by how quickly Alvaro Morata has settled into life at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard has made a quick start to life at Stamford Bridge with three goals and two assists in his first four Premier League matches since completing a £70m move from Real Madrid.
Morata netted the opening goal in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Leicester to help Chelsea climb to third in the table, and Drogba feels he will be key to helping Antonio Conte’s side defend their title.
“He is scoring goals that are winning games so I am really happy for him and for the club as well,” Drogba told Sky at the BGC Partners Charity day, held to remember the friends and colleagues who died in the 9/11 attacks.
“It is very important to score. As a striker, when you start with a new team, people have high expectations.”
“When you match those expectations, you are just happy and the goals continue to come.
“I hope he will have a great season because we need that.”
